Three years after the announcement that Kingpins Show – the international denim fair – would come to SugarFactory, the trade show finally took place on 20 and 21 April 2022! The pandemic caused some postponement, but the wait was rewarded with a stunner of a trade fair!
International denim trade show
The stands were set up between the steel and weathered pillars, concrete and large boilers. More than 75 exhibitors presented their latest fabrics, washings and motifs in denim at the exhibition. This attracted more than 1,000 visitors per day, making it a great success. The exhibition floor was bursting with energy and visitors were amazed. Not only because of the latest denim trends, but also because of the unique exhibition location. The rough and authentic atmosphere of SugarFactory fits perfectly with the tough image of denim and therefore also with Kingpins Show. The central location near Amsterdam and Schiphol, and the accessibility by public transport is important when a large (international) audience is expected at an event.
Denim and SugarFactory: a perfect fit
Visitors were welcomed in the Binnenstraat, where they had to walk between large, flowing pieces of denim fabric. Behind them, unique fashion pieces hung from the metres-high ceiling, made by students of the Jean School in Amsterdam, who also had an exhibition space inside. The trade show itself was held in the large Middenfabriek and Pulppersloods. Because the Middenfabriek has recently been transformed, and there is no daylight, the stands could be beautifully lit with vivid LED lighting.
Worth repeating
Because the tradev show was such a success, next edition will also be held at SugarFactory! We cannot wait until October, when we can welcome Kingpins Show again!
